ABSTRACTIONS #14

ABSTRACTIONS:

the shadow operatives are
sent to
silence the storm crows.

Say the Wind made Them crazy,
Say maybe the Voices do too.

SOMETIMES I WONDER WHETHER OR NOT
PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES
THINK THE "AMERICAN DREAM" IS LIVING
THROUGH THE EYES OF MATT LEBLANC

It's not your mouth or eyes
but the mind inside that is
a scary surprise

that is all for tonight
the scabs itch,
we will scratch.

TABLED TIME

One day, all three of us sat at this
Same table… it is one covered in epoxy
And I'm sure a few other memories, but
 That once we sat just
 You & Him & me

Threw some rocks and played a child's
Game where no one would win unless you
Joined in, and you did, we did with,
 That once we sat just
 You & Him & me

The Little One climbed a tree with help
From our hands, and you smiled and laughed
But still worried, like a great mother
 That once we sat just
 You & Him & me

Now this table where we sat collects
The chalk coat from the rocks below,
 Embedded with the memory of
 That once we sat just
 You & Him & me

HONEY, SYRUP, SAP

Here the rest of the world might
Have found the molasses, a
Golden-slow trickle or pace,
Who knows how, or when?

Was it boring? The process -
The awakening? I bet it came abrupt,
And if it didn't may gods bless
The rip, the tear, cracking...?

Sounds 'bout right,
Golden-slow, the folding

The change

MOTH/BALLGAG

The hand placed over my mouth

Gentle, fluttering moth wings,

Like stretched nerves a-tremble
 Callous? Does not seem so

Crystalline, careful things press

Like a lover sits a-bumble
 A grandstand, mimicking something

Seeking, blown away or chased off

Like I was caught a-peeking
